Application

Sodium hexametaphosphate is an important industrial material for water treatment chemicals. It can be used as a water softener for power station and boiler water, detergent auxiliary agent, anti-corrosion agent, detergent for bleaching and dyeing industry. Used as preservative, stabilizer and juice precipitator in the food industry. It is also used in dyeing, tanning, papermaking, color film, soil analysis, radiochemistry, and analytical chemistry.
In Industry
1. In dyeing industry. Sodium hexametaphosphate water softener can be used in the printing and dyeing industry. It is one of the three components of alkaline dyeing auxiliaries. The normal dye is adsorbed by the fiber to the surface in the solution and diffuses continuously, and then form a direct dye with fiber macromolecules. However, the direct dye is not resistant to hard water, and it will combine with calcium and magnesium ions to form insoluble precipitation so that the dyed fabric produces color spots, so the direct dye must be dissolved with soft water.
An ideal water softener in the industry is sodium hexametaphosphate. Its PH value is close to neutral. In hard water, it can form a complex with calcium ions, so that the dye is more evenly on the fabric and the color is more uniform. Therefore, the selection of high-quality SHMP chemical can play the role of color fixation, soft water and washing aid in textile printing and dyeing.
2. In cooling water. Sodium hexametaphosphate corrosion inhibitors is widely used in cooling water. In addition to its excellent corrosion inhibition performance, SHMP chemical is also an excellent scale inhibitor, which can prevent calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate from scaling in water.
Limescale in cooling water is generally composed of calcium silicate, magnesium silicate, and other slightly soluble salts. Sodium hexametaphosphate can complex with calcium, magnesium and other metal ions in circulating water to soften water.
In addition, the divalent metal ions in sodium hexametaphosphate liquid chelate to form positively charged polyelectrolytes. When it is adsorbed on a metal surface, it forms a dense, continuous film. Thus acting as a preservative.
Microorganisms can easily grow in cooling water. 3. In other fields. SHMP chemical is used as an inorganic water reducing agent in the ceramic industry. It can reduce mud viscosity and improve mud fluidity. It works best with polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer. In the petroleum industry, it is used to rustproof the drilling pipe and control the viscosity of the mud when drilling.
In Food
Sodium hexametaphosphate food grade is a hydrophilic water retention agent, which can stabilize the water contained in food. It can be used as a quality improver, chelator, water retention agent, leavening agent and pH regulator in meat products, aquatic products, and flour products.
